Hand-printed greeting cards with original GDR printing clichés
Sat. June 28th, 2—4 p.m.
Design your own hand-printed postcards with original GDR printing clichés! In our cozy studio full of antique printing presses, we spend two hours with ink rollers and analogue printing.
After a short introduction with examples of different techniques, we get started. You will get to know letterpress printing: How do you work with lead letters, how do you create a typesetting or even a layout — without a computer? Then we browse through our selection of old printing plates (also called printing plates) with GDR motifs, roll out printing ink (water-based) and print it on various papers. Many greeting cards are created in a very short time, which you can take with you on the same day.
You don’t need to bring anything with you, the studio is fully equipped. You create at least 10 self-printed cards per person. The printmaking studio is wheelchair accessible, located on the ground floor and has a separate entrance with sliding doors and no steps.
