Portrait of Yvette Röske

I became fascinated with printmaking 20 years ago. I have now been experimenting with this form of expression for 10 years.

What fascinates you most about printing?

In my creative work, I make use of the limitations of the techniques. Printmaking makes special demands, even in the selection of motifs. These limitations help me to concentrate on the essentials of the image. At the same time, the various printing techniques and their combinations provide many exciting opportunities for experimentation.

Where do you get your inspiration for motifs from? Can you recommend sources?

When traveling, but especially in everyday life, I try to consciously pay attention to details and observe them up close. I also find events such as open studios / workshops exciting. They are inspiring and give impulses to various topics. For example, I enjoy the art festival artspring berlin and the Day of Printmaking.

Which print artists do you find particularly interesting?

Brigitte Döbert with her subtle and at the same time brittle interpretations. Henriette v. Bodecker with her graphically clear abstractions. Eberhard Hartwig and the poetic view of his works.
